Here is an overview of what we will be doing this week in our CORE SUBJECTS:

Reader’s Workshop–This week, students will begin 4 of the five stations of The Daily Five:  Read To Self, Listen To Reading, Word Work, Reader’s Response.  Please allow students to bring headphones or earbuds to school so they may listen on Epic Books.

Writer’s Workshop-This week,  students will finish revising and then publish their I’m From poems.  This assessment will be graded via a rubric and is worth 20 points.  Students will have Monday and Tuesday in class to complete publishing, using a checklist to make sure they remember everything they must do to get their best grade.  Students who do not complete it in class may be required to finish at home.  All poems are due on Friday, September 21.

Math-In Math, students will find the volume of rectangular prisms.  Students will work on solving real-world area problems by exploring the volume of cylinders and rectangular prisms.
