- We will attend a field trip on April 4 to see an IMAX film at the Museum of Science and Industry This film centers around engineering in the world. We will attach the learning to classroom learning in engineering challenges. This trip will cost $7. I do not have change in the classroom, so please try to send exact change.
Here are highlights for the week:
Reader’s Workshop: We are nearing the end of Q3! Make sure your child is reading 30-45 minutes nightly, otherwise it will be difficult for them to achieve their Reading goal. ReadnQuiz goals will be graded on the percentage of points that they accrue towards their total point goal. Students earn points by taking reading quizzes after they finish any IR or GR book. This week, students will work on Daily 5 activities: Read To Self, Guided Reading, Listen To Reading, and Word Work. Students will also complete the Class novel, Wonder.
Writer’s Workshop: This week, students will peer conference and meet with the “editor” to finish their expository essay on their ecosystem. Students will revise and publish their essay. All published essays are due Monday April 3.
Math: In Math, students will continue work in Unit 7 Lessons 7-8 through 7-11 will be covered.
Science: This week, students will finish their unit of study, Ecosystems, with Ms. Pfeifferthis week. Students will complete their ecosystem and food web mobiles that model their understanding of terms and functions of an ecosystem.
Social Studies: Students will finish work in Chapter 8 this week. A Chapter test will be taken on Thursday, March 30.
